Hello I’m Senator Smith, I’m from a mostly rural state where industry is growing. With the industry growing and taking over government funding that used to go to the Farmers. The new industry will provide an increase in jobs for the state as well as in tax dollars. From recent change of the state voters now, I have served four terms as a Senator from the state of Idaho; I am looking to serve one more year.
I have been accepted to speak at the Farm Bureaus annual meeting and banquet awhile ago. At the moment, Senator Jones has asked me to come to Washington D.C. and support a bill that would help my state Idaho. In return, Senator Jones would rally support for a bill that would send lots of federal grant money to my state to help build industry and uplift the economy. I decided to back out of the invitation to the Farm Bureau to go to Washington and help bring money home to my state.
My decision to go to Washington D.C. was well received by my state. Thanks to the reporters who ran a positive article on my decision to skip the Farm Bureau’s function. I was focusing on the funding of my state and looking out for the best interest of the people. I’m in high spirits that the 43% of voting population will not affect me at election time. The photographer who witnessed me having dinner and taking a check from a well known Industry lobbyist from my state. NOTHING ILLEGAL was happening during my meeting with the state Industry lobbyist.
I have been asked to vote on a bill that will increase the income tax. My state and other states in the same position as mine will receive larger portions of this money to help social issues – unemployment, food stamps, and social security which will help my constituents in need. I know my voters are not fond of the higher income tax but I am going to vote on the bill. I preceded my vote with research and great use of media to get out the results of the research. The constituents who will benefit from this will not be greatly affected by higher taxes since they fall in the lower tax brackets. These constituents are in favor of taking care of those citizens in need. If I had voted against the tax income raise constituents would not benefit. My followers would be very disappointed and question my position as senator of this state.
The National Rifle Association wants me to propose a bill that would reverse the Brady Bill. I will not support to reverse the Brady Bill. Background checks before purchasing guns are very important in society today. There are too many citizens dyeing from gunfire. The local media quickly heard about my decision not to back the NRA and support this bill. The NRA has put a lot of time into the media and the people of the state that I do not support their beliefs and I went against their opinions. Election Day is a few days away and without my support for the NRA things are looking bad.
I won my bid for reelection! I have pleased my constituents and supported what matters to them, while thinking of the future as well as in the best interest of my state. I want to thank everyone who has help and supported me from the beginning. I only ask that you will continue to vote for me and support me to the end.
